Visa Assistance

Many international participants to the SABE2020 Annual Conference will need to obtain a Russian visa, as per legal requirements of the Russian Federation.Visa applications are to be submitted not earlier than 90 days and not later than 30 days before the intended start of your visit.

Participants to academic events are eligible for "common humanitarian visa" which are cheaper and easier to obtain. 

Important! Visa invitations are not Visa for entry to the Russian Federation. In order to receive a Visa, make sure you have a visa invitation and other required documents and contact the Consulate of the Russian Federation in your country of residence. We also recommend that you check the website of the Russian consulate for the rules for submitting documents and the timeframe for receiving visas as early as possible.

5 SIMPLE STEPS TO GET RUSSIAN VISA

Get an Acceptance Notification & Register

Get Acceptance Notification from the Organizing Committee on April 24 by mail and register on the site by paying a fee

Apply for Conference invitation

Apply for the Conference invitation to SABE 2020 starting April 25 and no later than June 5, via this link: fill in the form and send a copy of your passport

Receive Conference invitation

Issuing Conference invitation can take up to 3 weeks. Organizing Committee will send it by mail or e-mail (depending on the country) when it is ready

Apply for a Russian visa

Contact your local Russian Consulate or Visa center and check the list of required documents. Be ready to pay a consulate fee and submit:

  1. Travel ID (passport), valid at list 6 month after the end date of a visa apply and having at least 4 blank pages to be used for visa
  2. Conference invitation from HSE
  3. Visa application form 
  4. Valid health insurance or travel insurance depending on the country (additional tests may be required)

Do I need Russian Visa?

Russian visa is required for most countries of the world, except some countries of South America, Middle East and Asia. Citizens of other countries are required to obtain a visa for entry into the territory of the Russian Federation. Please check it  here.

How can I apply for a visa outside of my country?

We strongly recommended to contact the local Russian Consulate /Visa center to find out if this is possible in your case. You may be asked to present documents proving your residence status (residence, study or work permit)
